    A History of Finding Niches

    It all started with our innovative bilingual Top 40/Dance station Planet Candela, which launched on May 28, 2012. Its cutting-edge, energetic and multi-cultural approach to Top 40, complemented by a talented on-air and mix show staff, earned the station Semifinalist status in the "Best Single-Stream Webcaster" category at the 2013 RAIN Internet Radio Awards. With numerous features by the likes of Live 365, Windows Media and TuneIn, thousands of loyal listeners all over the world and philanthropic support of Autism Speaks' annual Light It Up Blue campaign, Planet Candela was in a class all its own. Unfortunately, due to changes in the internet radio industry, Moronta Media management found it necessary to suspend operations on May 4, 2016.

     

    On April 14, 2014, Moronta Media launched AmazingLiteMusic.com to critical acclaim. The Lite format has generally become too "bright" and rhythmic and strayed from its original intent and identity. Featuring a beautiful and compelling blend of easy-listening songs, mostly from the 80s, 90s and today, AmazingLiteMusic.com is leading the revival of true lite music, and doing so with its own quirky and eclectic style. Having earned more than 130,000 monthly tune ins and 100,000+ Total Listening Hours, the unique AmazingLiteMusic.com is a certified hit and has become one of the most popular destinations for Lite pop aficionados.

     

    Observing a deficiency in radio programming aimed at school age children, Moronta Media decided to philanthropically address the issue by producing an internet radio station for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy of Brooklyn (OLPHCAB, for short). The experimental OLPHCAB Radio launched on May 30, 2015 and focused only on "Family-Friendly Hits". It segued into an on-demand-only Soundcloud-based outlet in early 2016. Shortly thereafter, Moronta Media launched a video counterpart in OLPHCAB TV, further bolstering the school's online presence.

    Bernardo has 20+ years of media experience and has served as a program director, assistant program director, music director, and on-air personality for several radio stations in the Northeastern United States. Bernardo currently leads the programming department at BronxNet TV in New York City.

     

    Priscilla is a former radio DJ and promotions director. She is also an accomplished publishing professional with experience in management, operations, and sales.

     

    With their combined programming and business acumen, the Morontas are poised for continued media success.
